Container programs

The use of aggressive chemicals is essential for the manufacture, processing and refinement of many industrial products. These substances can endanger people and the environment if handled improperly.

In order to reduce the risks associated with the handling of environmentally hazardous substances, the Water Resources Act (WHG) has issued regulations on the handling of substances hazardous to water in accordance with the principle of concern.

In the interests of water protection, the scope of these regulations includes facilities for the storage, filling and handling (LAU facilities) and facilities for the production, treatment and use (HBV facilities) of substances hazardous to water in the commercial sector and in public facilities.

We are licensed as a specialist company in accordance with the German Water Resources Act to install, set up, maintain and assemble LAU and HBV systems.

KUSTAN performance features:

  • We manufacture tanks and collection systems with approvals from the German Institute for Building Technology, Berlin (DIBt) up to a volume of 50 m³ as standard.
  • All containers and collecting devices are subject to multiple, strict quality controls during production through internal and external monitoring.
  • We offer you our additional support for special containers and collection devices outside our standard software that are subject to the regulations of the German Water Resources Act.

All containers are statically calculated using authorized software. These calculations are based on the chemical and physical properties of the medium to be stored.

As plastics themselves are subject to an ageing process, the containers are usually designed for a maximum theoretical service life of 25 years. Depending on the medium, the service life can also be limited to a shorter period. It may be necessary to install comparative samples for interim material tests and/or repeat tests with internal inspection of the containers.

We provide all the necessary documents and records to the TÜV (TÜV Rheinland Industrieservice GmbH), for example, for the expert opinion regarding changed material/media combinations.

At the same time, technical design documents and a verifiable structural analysis for proof of stability are prepared for each design or a structural analysis checked by the LGA Landesgewerbeanstalt Bayern Nürnberg is submitted.

Our container programs offer you the following options:

  • Storage containers in accordance with general building inspectorate approval Z-40.21-90 Flat-bottomed containers and collecting devices made of polyethylene (PE) with a coiled cylindrical shell.
  • Storage containers in accordance with general technical approval Z-40.21-105 Flat-bottomed containers and collecting devices made of polyethylene with cylindrical shells made of welded sheets.
  • Other process containers

This service makes it easier for you as the operator to manage approvals for official suitability assessment procedures.
